Daily Maintenance of Twin Screw Extruder
Daily Maintenance of Twin Screw Extruder
The twin-screw feed extruder is mainly composed of a barrel and a rotating extrusion twin screw inside the barrel. When the equipment is running, the material enters the material chamber through the feeding port, and the screw rotates and extrudes forward to transport it. Under the action of thrust, friction, shear force and heat, a high pressure and high temperature difference is formed inside and outside the chamber. The moment the material is extruded, it expands instantly due to the pressure difference.
Lubrication of the transmission system
Before starting the machine, you need to check the oil quantity and quality in the box. Usually, it will be filled at the factory, but you need to choose the appropriate lubricant according to the climate in different places. In daily maintenance, you need to check each component regularly and change or add oil as needed: various bearing parts, motors, differential modulator front gears, feeding reduction motors, extruders, etc.
Turn off the main power supply, check and clean the entire expansion chamber: gear wear, spindle coupling transmission mechanism wear and alignment, spiral surface materials, etc. Replace wearing parts in time and clean up residual materials to avoid agglomeration, mildew or cross contamination between materials.
Electrical System
The electrical system needs to be equipped with the most basic protection devices: grounding protection, thermal relay protection, and insulation protection. Professionals are responsible for maintenance. Regularly check and clean the dust in the operation box and control cabinet, and promptly check the inverter, electrical fasteners, etc. If a tripping protection occurs, it is necessary to troubleshoot the problem before starting.
Cleaning and maintenance
After the equipment is shut down for a long time, turn off the main power and pull out the screw inside the cavity for cleaning. Clean the residual materials on the surface of the equipment regularly and pay attention to check the stability of the equipment's fastening bolts and nuts and packaging equipment.
